Susan doing an All People’s Day Pre-K to 5th Grade Assembly
(at a school in Atlantic City, New Jersey)
Art programs are done with students prior to the assembly celebration of All People’s Day, a Multicultural Holiday.
One Example: The Craft Dough People project is made by each student, creating 5 faces from the same plain dough. By experiencing that the base ingredients are the same, they understand that people should therefore receive equal respect.
The celebration is an optional culminating event and one of many art, music and drama projects for the multicultural, diversity, holiday of All People’s Day. This is an anti-discrimination, anti-bias workshop that includes the issues of race, gender, religion, sexual orientation, age, disability, body type, language, and nationality. All People’s Day connects people whose ancestors came to the US from all over the world: African American, European American, South American, Central American, Puerto Rican American, Asian American, South East Asian American, Asia Pacific American, Middle Eastern American, Americans from many Islands etc. All People’s Day is a multicultural educational program that can be done with children and adults in school classrooms, after school programs, Children’s Services Councils, Churches, Synagogues, Mosques, Temples, social agencies, and clubs. All People’s Day is also a diversity training program for teachers and counselors. The founder of All People’s Day now lives in Delray Beach Florida and presents these diversity programs locally.
