2026 Dedications
We are dedicating the 2026 festival to CAROL STRICK who passed away in 2025.
1937–2025: For decades, Carol Strick gave voice to incarcerated artists by showing their art to the world. Her work was an act of care and resistance- ensuring art made behind prison walls was seen, honored, and given back to the people who created it. Carol was a real hero and she was at every Florida All People’s Day festival with Artists In Prison selling their work and giving them the funds! A documentary about her is on Instagram—

We are dedicating the 2026 festival to SUSAN CARUSO who passed away in 2025 and was an inspirational person to many.
Susan created Sunflower Creative Arts, a unique family friendly pre-school and kindergarten that adheres to her original principles. Sunflower allows kids to learn on their own through play, boosting confidence and creating an environment for exploration and interaction with other kids. The staff teach cooperation and safety.
Susan believed that constant instructions and praising by adults makes children dependent on directions and on that praise robing the child of self-esteem and self-praise. She used her own musical talent and varied outdoor and indoor environments to create a fun place to explore and learn. Susan taught the kids parents techniques to extend the principles to their homes.
Susan Caruso was an advocate and participant in the All People’s Day Diversity Festivals for many years. She had a Sunflower booth at many of the festivals, became the chair of the Free Food Committee and gave suggestions that made All People’s Day a better festival. We will truly miss Susan Caruso!
